A NEW HOME

Signed a contract last week with TWO GUN PUBLISHING to publish my western fiction. It's a new publisher who publishes only the western genre. So, I'm in on the ground and hoping to grow along with it. Thank you for the chance.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE, BUT I'M BACK!

It's been awhile since I was here last, but I'm back. Things have been a little crazy since my last post. The publisher I had been with closed its doors, so I self published for awhile and game across another publisher, submitted a manuscript and was accepted. That lasted about a year and after deciding that seeing my work available in only one place, I decided to go back to self publishing.

Then, I got an email from a publisher in California. This publisher said he had an assistant that said he had read something i had written and thought that i was someone he should talk to. So, we talked a couple of times, he read a couple of my short stories and, to make a long story short, he offered me a work-for-hire contract.

For those that don't know about work-for-hire, they gave me an outline of a story to write from an outline that they provided. I would be paid a flat fee, paid in installments throughout the writing of the story and after the book went to print, I would drop back into the stable of writers until an outline in my genre came across agin, then the whole process would start all over.

Well, everything moved along until I finished it and it was sent to the editor. I don't know if these editors read the outlines, but this person tagged me on parts of the manuscript that were requested in the outline. After the editor trashed my manuscript a couple of times, I talked with the big man, voiced my complaints and we decided to part ways. It was a little disappointing it ended that way because I wasted a whole writing year on that project, but it is what it is and life goes on.

But all is not lost, I'm back to self publishing and last month I sent a manuscript to a new publisher and the waiting begins anew!

So I hope you all hang with me, because I intend to keep this blog a lot more active!

                                              See You Again Soon!
